Gabor Komlossy

 

 

He was born in 1979 and pursued his trumpet studies as a student of Attila Simon at the Bela Bartok Secondary Vocational College in Budapest and Frigyes Varasdy at Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He obtained a degree as a trumpeter and teacher in 2003. He has been a prize-winning contestant at UGDA/Luxemburg and ITG/Forth Worth-USA trumpet competitions and was awarded ’Pro Europa’ prize in 2001 in Strasbourg. From 2005-2006 he studied as a postgraduate student of Carole D. Reinhart at the Vienna Academy of Music. He is the leading trumpeter of the Weiner-Szasz Chamber Orchestra and a guest soloist with various symphony and chamber orchestras.
He has been teaching at Bela Bartok Secondary Vocational College since 2005. He is a regular participant at concerts given by the Hungarian National Opera House and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. In 2007 he won the Annie Fischer scholarship.
